PoweredYouth Tawau - Jane Chong
After my SPM results came out, I applied for TWCS.
It’s a scholarship offered by Taylor in colaboration with multinasional organisations, giving only to 20 scholars throughout the nation which gives:
1) 100% tuition fee waiver for: ~ Foundation 1 year
~ Degree 3 years
2) 6 months of internship at reputable organisations. (Mine is BMW company)
I almost forgot about TWCS until 26 April, I received an email from Taylor congratulating me for being shortlisted for TWCS, thereby invited me for an interview at the new Taylor Lakeside Campus in Subang Jaya. I felt happy but tensed at the same time for I was asked to do a 5-min-powerpoint presentation on global issues of the business world. How can I, a Science-streamed student who totally know nothing about the commerce world, do this stuff? I prayed. Miraculously, he inspired me a lot of creative ideas and gave me extraordinary power, until my ppt preparation went on so smoothly and it’s hard to believe that I finished all my work in just one single night! It is God who turned me from a ZERO to a HERO! He made me came out with such impressing ideas and powerful points!
On the very day of interview, we had a Family Prayer. This trip had cost me a lot, so I proclaimed that there’s No Way to FAIL but to SUCCEED! The moment came when I met BMW’s officers and Taylors’ dean of Bursary unit and here began my interview. Amazingly, I felt relaxed and comfortable, as if God’s beside my every moment, as I knew in Bible 2 Timothy 1:7 says: “For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”. I presented my ppt fluently, expressively and held their attention captive. Then they asked me a list of professional questions, but God gave me professional answers too.
Then in the evening while we’re doing our shopping spree, I suddenly received a phone call from Taylor congratulating me for being awarded TWCS! Also, I was invited to attend the scholarship awarding ceremony in June at BMW’s company. And what overwhelmed me the most is - the Prime Minister is going to present the award! What a surprise! This scholarship had helped me to save RM 100,000 for the next 4 years’ tuition fee! My whole family leapt for joy and thanked God.
The gravitational point of my success is because of God’s grace and blessing of wealth of talents in me. By applying what I’ve learnt from Son Shine Kids to Powered Youth in the interview, I was able to outshine other competitiors. Seminars organised by our church also inspires me in the intverview, especially the Sun Tzu’s Art War seminar and Datuk Tony Tiah’s Money Talk. Getting involved in the church’s ministry is the best part where I enhanced my leadership and communication skills as well as boosting my self confidence. These skills is what the interviewers look into. This is also what they consider as “being active in community services”. Other than that, I did well when asked to share my point of views. This is similar to what we do in cell group and that’s where I’m well-trained to cope with those matters. These conditions applied the same here when I was accepted to Global Youth Leadership Summit in US in year 2008 and 2009 as well as other previous scholarship interviews.
That’s why PY’s teachings are truly IMPORTANT in building our lives. Anytime, anywhere, anything, these teachings are really applicable and helpful, particularly in moulding our characters during our growing stage as teenagers. So all PYs, please hold onto what you’ve learnt and PRACTICE it out in real life - not just in WORDS but in ACTIONS and most of all- make it a LIFESTYLE!
One last thingI want to share is Taylor’s mission statement that inpsired me- “If you can see the INVISIBLE, you can do the IMPOSSIBLE!” It reveals the urgent need to change our mindset in order to succeed.
SPM 成绩放榜后，我申请了TWCS。此奖学金去年全国只有21人获得，是由Taylor 和跨国公司提供的奖学金，它包括了：
1)一年基础课程和三年学位的全免学费
2)在著名的公司实习半年 (我被派到的是BMW 公司)
我以为成功的机会不大，但4月26日那天，我收到一封由Taylor寄来的邮件，恭喜我入围TWSC，并邀请我出席在Subang Jaya新建的 Taylor Lakeside Campus进行面试。我兴奋不已，但也很懊恼，因为我被要求做有关国际商业话题的5分钟powerpoint呈献。试问，一直都是理科生，又对商业世界一窍不通的我怎么可能完成这任务呢？于是，我向神祷告。很奇妙地，他启示我许多创意的想法，也加添我的力量，使我在短短的一夜之间就顺利完成了一切任务，而且“出炉”的作品很棒！是神把我从“零蛋”变“英雄”，赐给额这么有说服 力的观点！是神在整个过程中操作！
面试当天，全家人同心合意为这面试祷告。这一程花了我们不少旅费，所以我宣告：“我不许失败，只许成功，！” 面试开始了，我与 BMW公司的执行人员和Taylor的评审见面。感谢主！面试的过程中我不害怕，感觉神就在我身边，因为我知道提摩太后书1：7说到，神赐给我们不是胆怯的心，乃是刚强，仁爱，谨守的心。我的powerpoint呈献深得评审团的佳评。在问答环节的时候，他们问了我一系列专业的问题，但神也给了我专业的答案。
傍晚时分，我突然接收Taylor拨来的电话恭喜我成功获得TWCS，还邀请我出席六月份在BMW公司进行的颁奖典礼。最令我难以置信的是，我国首相将是这典礼的颁奖嘉宾!这的确是个极大的惊喜，更替我省下了马币十万令吉！ 我们一家人欢呼感谢神。
我的成功，重点是在神的恩典与他恩赐给我的不同才华。在面试里，我能脱颖而出，全是因为应用了我从 Son Shine Kids到 Powered Youth所学习的教导，以及从教会所举办的一系列讲座会中得灵感，如孙子兵法和Datuk Tony Tiah的金钱座谈会。 参与教会的服事不但雕磨了我的领导能力和沟通技巧，更提升了我的信心。而这些技巧就是面试的评审员所着重的因素，也是他们所要求的“积极社群服务中表现”。同时，当他们要求我表达看法的时候，我也胸有成竹，从容不迫，只因为我在教会细胞小组里学习了怎么分享与表达意见，所以懂得应付任何问题。事实上，这些条件也是让我在两年Global Youth Leadership Summit 还有其他的面试中成功被获选的原因。
这就是为什么PY的教导在我们生命中有多重要，任何时候任何地点任何事情都能派上场运用，尤其是在生命的建立与品格的雕塑，神的话语更成为我们成长的堡垒。因此，PY们需在实际生活中运用这些教导，不止是在言行上而是在举止上，而且最重要的是把这生命活出来！
最后，我想分享Taylor最让我留下深刻印象的使命－“如果你可以看见那不能看见的，你就能行那不可能的事！”阿门！

我已经离开了斗湖大概12年吧，直到现在，生命一直经历起起落落，跌倒，站起来再跌倒，如果不是神，我想我应该会结束我的生命吧。回想起来我的生命，在我最失败最堕落的时候，神还是不放弃我，他的话就在我最需要的时候显现。记得有一次，当我还陶醉在clubbing里，一句话深深地出现在我的脑海里：“我是谁？”，这句话不是因为成龙的电影，而是牧师说过的信息，我是谁！直到现在我还牢牢地记住，这信息教导我认识我自己，认识神，认识魔鬼的诡计，认识人。当我一次又一次迷失自己时，是神借着这信息一直的扶持我，提醒我！
这几年，因为工作的关系，接触了很多不同的宗教，还深入研究，一些宗教领袖，和尚，法师，甚至一些自称是佛菩萨的都要招我进入他们的信仰，成为他们的门徒，但我还是拒绝他们，因为我知道只有一位神是适配的，其他都不是神。我的生命是神亲手救我回来的，我不会放弃我信仰的！记得以前牧师常把我内心的弱点曝露出来，一直翻开我的污点，一直督促我。当时的内心一直都咒骂牧师，埋怨神。直到最近才明白，敌人一直使用不同的宗教、方法好让我感觉很舒适，觉得加入他们，离开神是正确的。
我也曾经有一度想离开神，但神没放弃我，神的信息一次又一次地浮现。对！其他宗教或许让我感觉很舒适，没压力，轻松；但没有造就。让我想起一句话，耶稣的道路不好走，却是有最美好的结局。神使用不同事情发生，碰触我的伤口，把我的弱点放大，他的目地就是要塑造我的生命，他要把我的伤口一针一针缝起来，好让我不再痛苦。放大我的弱点是因为想让我得到转变。一些年已经过去了，真的要感谢神还守护着我。
借此我要谢谢郑使徒，谢谢你的教导，还记得以前我搞垮了你的电脑，文件刷掉，你要我短时间内从新把文件输入。谢谢你让我经历这个过程，因为到现在我还记得当时的内容，而且这些内容还多次把我从堕落中拉回神的国度里。谢谢你！
PoweredYouth Tawau - Teh Tzer En
Before I was a Powered Youth, my life is boring, just doing homework, watch tv and computer games. I do not know what is the purpose of life that time. Besides, I always talk with people negatively, including my mind-set. My parents always scolded me for always talking negatively.
But, after I become a Powered Youth, my whole life was completely changed. I started to do my best in every position that I'm taking, be more serious and focus on doing things. Then, I soon discover the potential that God has given me when I started to get connected with Him. And, I too know that He has already planted the seed of success in me all this time. I know that I live for a great purpose according to His vision that is the Powered Youth vision "Changing Today's Youth Culture". I also learnt and believe that we are the transforming force of this culture because He has given us the power to insulate ourselves so that we can penetrate the world. All these powerful words had brought a deep conviction in me. It helped me not to despise myself anymore.
Apart from that, I also gain more wisdom on solving things and facing challenged in life. Most of all, my mind-set was changed 180 degree over. I talk differently compared to the past, no more negative words. My parents didn't complaint about it anymore. Since then God gave me more blessings and I was never limited by my thoughts because in Christ there is nothing impossible.
Being a Powered Youth will help you experience this kind of transformation or even greater things. I'm glad being a Powered Youth, I hope you are one too.
PoweredYouth Tawau - Kelvin H'ng
大家好，我是Powered Youth Kelvin H'ng。我小时候就是基督徒的家庭。每个星期天，爸爸妈妈都叫我跟他们一起去教会，我觉得教会很闷，也不真正认识耶稣，我的生命也没什么改变、
我从小就是一个很自卑的人。我不喜欢跟别人讲话，又害羞，我是那种别人问一句，我答一句的人。在我初一的那年，我就进了Powered Youth。就在那里，我才真正的认识耶稣，也才真正的知道我自己的身份，我知道我是被爱的，有价值的。神已经把一颗小小的种子放在我生命里。当我相信，我去培养这种子时，我就可以活出当中的潜能！
感谢主，我也找到了我的才干。我学鼓，我从10岁就学了鼓。现在，我在教会的儿童聚会，Powered Youth服事。我学鼓的目地是来敬拜，赞美耶稣的。另外，神也让我参与在Powered Youth Dance Team里，在教会的特别聚会用舞蹈来荣耀神。我要把荣耀归给耶稣，Amen！
PoweredYouth Tawau - Stephanie Wong
以前我是一个又安静又内向的人，我不敢去接触别人或跟别人说话。可是当我进了 Powered Youth 后，牧师有教导我们如何跟朋友建立一个很好的友谊关系。牧师说，我们要先听朋友说什么，然后了解再跟他讨论关于他的事情。可是以前的我用不理的心态，而且忽略了朋友想告诉我什么，导致我和朋友的关系变得恶劣。牧师也有说，如果我们和朋友有任何的误会，就要快快地跟朋友以对的方式面对面解决。感谢神，这堂课让我和朋友的关系变得越来越好。虽然我们上了高中以后，有些被分配到不同的班，可是我们还是可以一起去吃东西。而且也可以跟那些已经转到另一所学校的联络。除此之外，我跟我班上的马来同学也有个亲密的朋友关系，无论有什么难题，都可以请教他们。
PoweredYouth Tawau - Kelvin Ng
不曾离开家乡的我要决定到外头深学是一件不简单的事情。我清楚知道这次到马六甲深造是神给我开的路。在准备去深造的时候神帮助我解决金钱上的需要，且让我很有勇敢得到一个人生地不熟的环境生活。我祈求神指引我的路。因为没有亲戚朋友的关系，我只好在网上认识一些朋友来协助我。感谢神让我在网络上认识到一个朋友，曾经在我要就读的大学读书。我到了马六甲时，这位网友就带我到我的家并四处逛马六甲。在我读书面对困难之时，这位朋友也帮助我在学业上解决难题。我知道是神的安排。要不是神我可能早就被骗掉了。感谢神是他的看顾我才能够处理所有的事情。这次可以说是走出了自己的comfort zone自己独自生活。在这样的环境之下神以不同的方式来塑造及磨练我。让我能够在祂里面站立的稳。
在马六甲时参与加略山生命堂的教会。每周的小组及周末都不错过。因为我知道不管什么事一定要把神放在首位。在2个月过后很感谢神让我再次服事祂，就是在复兴大会的时候在台上服事神也同时服事人。我清楚知道，不是我自己选择服事神，乃是神拣选我来服事祂。神在我离开了我的comfort zone时对我作出了呼召。因为到了另一个教会，总是需要一些时间来适应的。由于我会比较在乎敬拜赞美的部分，总是很难融入该教会的敬拜赞美的文化。可是过了些日子神让我清楚知道不同的教会神有不同的旨意，因此学习了更多关于敬拜赞美，并且更有效地去服侍神。感谢神让我能够再次的事奉他，因为停止久了的事奉者难免灵里会衰退。
在马六甲深造了一年的foundation，就迁到赛城(Cyberjaya)继续我的Degree。到了新地方当然不忘记要去教会。我去到加略山丰收堂，此教会位于Petaling Jaya。也同样的需要一些时间来适应环境及教会的文化。神也让我有机会在该教会服事祂，而且我知道我是帮助该教会更进一步。此教会是个比较小型的, 在当中我学习如何去给，而不是等着别人来喂养。在这里也有Powered Youth的聚会，我参与了不同的PY聚会并吸取他们的所长。从PY Tawau直到PY Malacca跟着到PY PJ让我真的学习了不少。很感谢神让我在CCC Tawau成长，让我能够被装备然后去到各个不同的地方服侍他。我们不要成为喊口号的PY，而是要成为真正跟随神的PY。那自称为PY的，将来离开自己原生教会时就不能站立的稳。因为离开了神什么事情都能够发生。将一切荣耀都归给神，阿门。
