Powered Youth Charter
1. Power source: Passionate Worship. I will love the Lord my God with all my heart and with all my soul and with all my mind. This is the source of my power to be Powered Youth! Mt 22:37
2. Orderly: Do my best in my studies. I recognize this is my job as a student and I will do my best in my studies by being responsible. I can have all the good things I want but I can’t have them all at the same time! Phi 3:13,14
3. Wholeness: Balanced lifestyle. I am committed to live in wholeness by prospering in body, soul and spirit. I will seek and receive help and counsel from leaders who watch over my life. 3 John 2
4. Environment: Safe, authentic fellowship. I am changing the youth culture by creating a safe environment among powered youth to have heartfelt fellowship without the fear of being misunderstood. Heb 10:25
5. Relationship: No boy-girl relationship at this stage of my life. I treasure my growing up stage and will protect it so that I will make the best out of my youth life by making many, many good friends that will remain throughout the rest of my life. I will seek counsel before I want to enter into any boy-girl relationship. If I feel I am ready to meet the challenges of courtship, I will then move to the adult congregation. Luke 2:52
6. Example: Not be despised as youth. I will not let anyone despise my youth. I will be an example to others in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. 1 Tim 4:12
7. Dedication: Strong in Prayer and the Word. I dedicate my life to build a solid foundation through a living relationship with Christ by prayer and God’s Truth so that I can stand in face of the storms that may come my way. Mt 7:24
8. Yield: Cultivate good attitudes. Attitude determines my altitude. I will build positive attitudes of faith, confidence, joy, generosity and forgivingness. I will not run away from problems or blame others, nor condemn myself. Good attitude will yield great dividend towards my success. Phi 2:5
9. Others: Reaching other youths with Christ’s love. I am committed to a lifestyle of helping and serving others. In doing so, I know I am blessed in return by building good characters in my life. 2 Cor 5:20 We are ambassadors for Christ.
10. Unlimited resources: Meeting my personal needs. I know my personal needs for significance, security, love and acceptance can only be totally met by Christ’s unconditional and unlimited love, strength and power. I am responsible for looking to God to meet all my personal needs by knowing Who I Am In Christ and Christ is my life. Col 3:4 Christ is my life. Col 3:11 Christ is my all and is in all!
11. Tongue: i. I keep watch over my words. I will not gossip. I will not judge others thinking I am better. Let my words always be encouraging and helpful to build up others. When I can control my tongue, I can control my whole body. James 3:2
ii. Prevention is better than cure. I will speak to other powered youth about his/her problem that I have heard of or observed in his/her life. I will not be bound to keeping secrets when my friend needs the help of others. I will only share with the leaders who can help so that they can follow up on the matter. I will expect the same from others so that I am protected. That is how we love each other. I am my brother/sister’s keeper. Eph 4:15
12. Honour elders: All may go well for me! I honour and respect my parents and leaders though they are imperfect. I honour them by greeting them, serving them, learning from them, sharing the happenings in my life to them and being submissive. Eph 6:2
